This Is Why I Think Of You

by Walter   Jul 21, 2020

As always written in nature
Everywhere that you see
Certain things belong together
And do so naturally

This will paint a picture
You'll keep inside your mind
For when wishing to escape
This image you'll often find

Though lately I'm confused
As to when I think back here
It is no longer the same image
That I see appear

Although just as beautiful
In as many different ways
Now when I close my eyes
It's your image that displays

First I didn't understand
As to why I would replace
The tranquility of nature
With your gorgeous face

Looking closer then I find
Side by side in each frame
That the beauty of you and nature
Are just one of the same

The sun on the horizon
As it peeks into view
Just like the light reflecting
As your eye lids open too

The softness of the sand
Which my feet sink within
Much like the tender touch
As my fingers on your skin

Warm colours of a flower
Standing out from all the green
Just as your red soft lips
So often make a scene

Landscape lines which flow
So beautiful to observe
Much like your gorgeous figure
With all your gentle curves

No it's not at all replaced
The image I'd always view
You're just as naturally beautiful
And this is why I think of you

You write these love poems so effortlessly, and each stanza comes across as so genuine. The imagery was gentle, soft and not overbearing, nor did I find anything cliche. Realizing it's not comparing nature against her features, but revering the similarities, the wonder in her natural beauty.

    Lovely!
