like a prion, you turn non-poets into poets.

fixated on your protruding collarbones,
i swallow the evening sun, bathing in the
turmeric light that etched you a goddess;
coaxing your wind tousled black-brown
hair into burning a deep shade of auburn,
a lantern in a faceless crowd.

awakening a dormant fire in me,
i only see the world in you.
you gather steps like a wild elephant;
swaying gracefully, verses in motion.
in the sapphire necklace that you adorn,
i find an augury of poetry.

your wandering eyes pierce mine,
and i feel the vulnerability begin to
pool; we exchange stories, averting
our eyes for brief moments of respite.

when time comes for us;
i'll pour this memory into a poem,
fold it in half and tuck it my shirt
pocket and happily meet death,

i’ve already stolen a part
of infinity.

    "I've already stolen a part of infinity."

    More like you've stolen a part of my heart<3 I am always looking for your name whenever I get online and I'm never disappointed when I read your work. But this one really captivated me. I've been reading it over and over again for hours now because I just can't get enough of it. Truly a wondrous piece of art and you should be so proud????

    Well, this certainly made me look up and learn what "prion" meant (I initially read it as "prison" in the title, oops!).

    This write was so... enchanting. "i only see the world in you" kind of defined the whole poem for me. The wonder in experiencing such richness with someone, in letting them be your muse, and in knowing you may explore everything they share and still be surprised and in awe. The last two lines made me stop and take a breath, and one of contentment.

    There's something ethereal in this, and I adore how it ties in with the title. How it seems grand, that perhaps someone who may think of themselves and the world around them as ordinary, can be exquisitely transformed. And it's this indulgence into a stunning part of the world and poetry, awakened because of love. Of someone who may be human but is like a goddess in your eyes... and like the sufferings and suffocation in the world hold no light to this person, this realization that even if you face your end, you were able to glimpse and behold infinity. A limitless love.

    I could gush over this for days to come haha <3

    I
    Love
    You!

    This is so rich...so poetic..so mesmerizing. Perfect word choice..Perfect structure. Emotions dripping and flowing all over the place...this is one of the finest pieces I read by you.

    Your love poems and the way you write about that particular character as I said before ..is like a book of one poem. I am just too excited writing this comment because this poem has moved my numb heart. <3
