Sleep Dread

by Sunshine   Jul 28, 2020

I dosed myself with restlessness.

Flapping into midnights
the way fish swing into infinite nothingness.

I bounce back into myself.

It makes me sick
like boundless depths and farewell kisses.

I can't shut my eyes;
I ran off with so many dreams
on my eyelashes;
now I dread the smell of sleep.

I fear to blink again.
