Cardiac Wreckage

by Aiko (Dreamsurfer)   Jul 30, 2020

When the young babe I wanted to marry,
Rejected the gift I had procured for her,
Yet she had asked for it,
I concluded that she did not love me.
She assured me that everything I wanted to give her,
She would get from another man.
So I ripped my obsession with her out of my chest,
Dumped it in a pit latrine.
It was like a nervous breakdown,
Cardiac wreckage.
All I had wanted was to sleep next to her,
In the same bed.
She later apologised for treating me that way.
I had already forgiven her,
That's how much I loved her.
