Silent Grief

Silent grieve.

You sit and you listen
To tiny noises in the distance
The windows tilted ajar
Wondering about your own existence.

How did I get here?
Do I grieve an empty spot
I’m I really happy?
The old days I forgot.

When your growing up
You seem to know what you crave
You start to get older
Life becomes a faster wave.

It’s not easy sitting by
Watching others take your place
You wonder if the clock is ticking
Or if you have even began the race.

Your envy turns to bitterness
Your happiness turns to sad
Your smile turns to fake ness
Your anger turns you bad.

Why do you stay?
To hold on to the things that count?
What if it isn’t the right choice
Will the burden just slowly mount?

It doesn’t matter if the love dies
It doesn’t matter if he was a cheat
It doesn’t matter if he’s never here
We are a family 3 days a week.

Do you settle for less?
What if you were wrong?
Would I still love myself?
When everyone was gone.

Everyone carries on their day
Why should they stop and think
They have their happy lives
They have their missing link

But You sit in silence
Thinking through gritted teeth
Because no one will ever know
The life of silent grief.

A meloncolny write but relatable to many. Though life there will be times to grieve, to lick wounds and question decisions made but they are moments that help define who we are and where we want to be. Dark clouds eventually give way to little rays of sunshine whether we expect it or not. Milly x
