For This Moment

by Walter   Aug 6, 2020

Nothing lasts forever
And everything will die
Yes this is a sad but true
Reality to life

But you shouldn't be sad
Waiting for this day
And forgetting the life you have
For when it's taken away

We don't know this day
Or when it might come
It could be many years away
So there's no point being glum

You should live each day
Like it might be your last
Just live for this moment now
And not the future or the past

Because you will never know
What you might just miss
When worrying about the future
Or the past you reminisce

Turn a different corner
Your future won't be the same
And if you turn out sad then
This day you will blame

So just live for this second
A time that's standing still
Enjoying every moment now
And life will be a thrill

You might meet someone else
Who's enjoying this time too
Now suddenly your path in life
Has changed to me and you

Then you're creating memories
Which you no longer appall
As all the things you're doing now
Will be what you recall

And I promise you your future
Is one which you will cheer
If you're living for this moment
And holding every second dear

I loved the positivity of this poem and the reminder to really live each moment to the max because none of us know how long we have. Too often worrys and what ifs can make us forget to live in rhe moment. Well rhymed as always. Milly x

This is so true Milly and I couldn't agree more. How often we miss the moment when our mind is stuck in another time frame. Thank you so much for your comment and nomination. x
