Good Bye Sleep

upstairs, the alarm clock
goes crazy trying to wake up my neighbors
And when a success, the floors cringe
with their every step usually at 5 am

I hear the stomps almost synchronizing
to the beating of my heart

thump, thuMP, thUMP, tHUMP, THUMP

as my hand clenches the bedsheet

at 6 am
silence finally arrives
5 minutes later
my baby cries
