A musing rhyme

by Megan Chapman   Aug 18, 2020

Some say a poem is supposed to rhyme
Though many don’t every time.

I think a poem should flow from the heart.
For mine, that’s always the right start.

The heart being the centre of life,
Through happiness, sadness, trouble and strife.

Emotion from there is a feeling true,
One that’s universal for both me and you.

A reflection of the life we know,
And its constant ebb and flow.

Though the details of my experience differ from yours
We’re both actually on the same course,

To find out what we’re here for.

A poem should have feeling above anything else and this has that.

    All the very best.

I must admit that rhyming is my preference and it rings more true straight from the heart. By the way a very clever heading. Milly x
