Love this. My favorite part is when you talk about feeling like another species just mimicking in order to survive. That resonated so deeply with me. Love your work.

How many of us spend our lives looking for a place we can call home, I wonder? Makes you ponder on whether or not its existence is simply a fanciful fixation...
Sorry, but my mood has been dark of late!

    Take care, MA

No need to apologize, it's a question I've asked before, and perhaps many of us have! Thank you for reading, Ben, and take care too

Loved this piece MA! The below lines are beautifully penned and convey a much deeper meaning and really hit hard.

    i am in the center
    of my house yet feel
    undomesticated
    another species
    simply mimicking
    in order to survive

    and...

    i ache for a shelter
where i won't ever have to wonder,
    "can this be my home?"

    Congratulations on the win!

The thoughts silence and loneliness can bring in the middle of the night with just the rhythm of eating as company. The ending verse really touches the heart...Congrats on the win!

Somewhere beneath all of our 'humanness' we are all just looking for home I think. For somewhere to belong and be accepted. Great piece.
