Toxic

Toxic

Whether in gloom
Or in merry glee
Now I am able
To clearly see
How toxic can
My actions be
To my beloved ones
And even to me
I've locked my kindness
And lost the key
Only my venom
Is running free

I liked the ease of the rhymes and the big reflection in this piece. I think realizing the weight and impact of our actions, and taking accountability if needed, is of paramount importance. Also, toxic words or actions can look different and take varying forms. If we're able to humble ourselves and look within, to evaluate our intentions and their effects, then we can grow as humans and do better.
