Cold Frames

by Sunshine   Sep 19, 2020

It was a fierce short summer.

A ripe trunk had died.

So maybe dig me another hole into spring,
in case you passed by my winter house.
I could, perhaps, watch the unfortunate seeds
as they rise,
or fall
onto piles of dry roots
that ceaselessly ooze outside my cold window.
