Rock Groupie

by cassie hughes   Sep 22, 2020

She stands amid the chanting mass
crushed on all sides like a pebble between boulders
T shirt proudly proclaiming her affiliation
smile a mile wide and
throat already raw before they have even played a note.

This is the elixir of her life
a junkie hooked on bass and screaming guitar
mainlined into ears tuned for the bliss that is
her rock
All else fades to black as the clamour begins.

Yes, you've really caught a moment here, Cassie. This reminded me of my twenties!

I really loved this. I've only been to one concert so far but this reminds me of a friend who has been to many of them. Sounded just like she was telling me about her newest exciting show. Great work!
