Save this ship

by Obscure   Sep 22, 2020

I am a boat
Taking on water
No matter how hard I try
The waves seep in
Faster and faster
If I give up
I will go under
But my feeble attempts
At survival
Are just barely enough
To keep me
bobbing in the water

The ease with which
One can slip through the waves
Surprises me
Terrifies me
Soothes me
This ending may be lonely
But we're lonely all our lives
When we tire of the struggle
The most we can do is try

(I don't know if I like the title, and the poem itself seems more like a rough draft than a finished product, but I'm posting it anyways)

Have you considered "SOS" as an alternate title? Just a thought for you. :)

That was what I planned to have the title be at first, but I thought I read something in the rules about not having all caps, so I changed it to Save this ship.

I’ve read this and thought I’ve left a comment, the title fits well!!!
It feels like you’re lost in an ocean and desperately trying to find a little light from a lighthouse to guide you.
    Very well written Obscure :)
