Weaving New

by Gracy Judith   Sep 28, 2020

there’s a surging
under her skin—
a bending rain dance
of new beginnings.
she finally dares to peel back
the layers she wore
without thought.
the lingering
must die—
she buries it
where secrets go to hide
she no longer locks her fears
inside the hidden room of her chest.
she rinses old bones of regret
and weaves
new dreams
under
old skin.

Sounds like a new start following a period of difficult reflection of a time, of a self that is now stronger.

    Take care.

"Weaving new dreams under old skin..." Incredibly poignant ending. I think we all like to hope for new dreams...I feel this line speaks of fresh beginnings no matter the past they have to dig their way out of.
