Reasons For Love

by Walter   Sep 29, 2020

A heart relies on more than lust
Above all else it searches trust
It remembers hurting from the past
From prior lovers that didn't last

Once bitten and twice it's shy
And love it seems to deny
Given up on ever finding this
As Cupid's arrow will always miss

But true love is a powerful force
Which leads two people on this course
Until left standing feet to feet
A place destined where you both meet

A lost smile now on your face
Emotions you thought were erased
Living in the past which you regret
Now suddenly made easier to forget

I think that we have all been there
When love has failed you feel despair
Sometimes the reasons not always clear
Then suddenly you'll see true love appear
