In an unfamiliar room,
Ever still and deafening -
Stood, just a breathe away,
the answer to my life's riddle,
My everything.
All I hear, I feel -
Is the trembling pulse,
of my heart.
Yet it remains unruffled,
by a stoic expression,
'cause I am fearful -
of breaking into a wide grin.
Finally, yes - Finally,
Our prologue has blossomed,
Into a new chapter -
sprouting verses of romance,
nourished by the very ink,
fermented in years - by us.
This pledge,
Preordained as the setting sun,
shall carve our names on the horizon
Eternally,
Officially.
And, as these rings,
find its way home onto our fingers,
It shall stay as unrelenting
as our flame -
Though often it flickers,
But never extinguished.
