Sink or swim (Rondeau)

by Michael   Oct 27, 2020

Come rain or shine, the thick and thin
lets find our peace, among the din.
Forget the box, of what’s outside;
lets concentrate, what lies inside.
We must seek out, what lies herein

It matters not, our coloured skin
what matters most, is love within.
We must unite, and halt divide.
. . . come rain or shine

Of those that walk, with shameful sin,
will always steal, our votes to win.
How can we trust, and so decide
when voices clash, and lives collide.
the time is now, to sink or swim
. . .come rain or shine

Very well done. This Rondeau was a pleasure to read. Not only does it read smooth but it comes with a great message. I adore these lines:

“It matters not, our coloured skin.
what matters most, is love within.
We must unite, and halt divide”

Hello, Michael. It's so nice to read rondeau form. You do have a talent for them and these lines stood out for me:

It matters not, our coloured skin
what matters most, is love within.
We must unite, and halt divide

When everyone can unlock and share their inner love, we will be free.

    Take care.
