Wonderful alliteration and fitting for this time of year! |
Alliteration is always a treat, so well done! I took this kind of a Scrooge-type character, but for Halloween. Or someone who just doesn't find the appeal or fun in spooking others, which is fair if they don't want to be frightened. And then I read the pumpkin part as human wanting the perfect thing, decoration, costume etc, and they get so wrapped up in this idea, and it's something the ogre doesn't understand. Or perhaps the ogre is a metaphor for someone who has been treated poorly, not treated as human, so of course he holds resentment. |

I love this, Em. I truly believe it is one of your most creative and technically well executed pieces to date. I hope someone nominates as I am all out! |

Thank you so much everyone. It's great to be back and 'let off steam' as us British like to say :) I hope you're all staying safe x |

Us word-smiths, like similar sounds don't we? Alliteration is fun and brings a nice quality to this near pumpkin shaped poem. X |
