Sugared Sorrow

by Skyfire   Nov 2, 2020

I would like to take your serration
and run it over the tender part
of my lips
watching to see if what runs out
is all the time
I thought we had.
I would like to bite the taste
of this midnight
like a candied poison apple
and wait for all the ghosts
to cry their tears
until all of us drown
in our own antiquated liquid.

I would like
to turn off the light.

Just two random title suggestions: midnight candy, a taste of midnight

"candied poison apple" WOW this is such powerful line , that I really wish was mine. I love this, and the entire poem!
