Powerful imagery here and clever metaphor of "whiskeyed sea" as well. It speaks volumes about how we can fall into the depths of what will eventually drown us. Relying on something to save us, hoping to overpower the urges and to not fall weak, yet we depend on the most harmful things. I think all of us, in some way, are looking for a way to bury our sorrows, whether that is with whiskey or some other thing that mutes or distracts us from facing our painful realities. |

In these uncertain times, many of us are finding ourselves needing support. Unfortunately, we don't always have a person or people in our lives to help us through those tough times. in these circumstances, it's understandable that alcohol is used to numb the pain. Your metaphor of the world/ your journey as a sea is an apt one. The sea can be calm, but often it's offers the real risk of drowning. |
