life on earth

by Michael   Nov 11, 2020

Once again we make preparations for
an atypical situation;
a war of unknown proportion,
thus dividing us up by four walls
where inevitably isolation and loneliness will
add up,
unless we are a part
of a plural setting

As we are told to come in,
from out of the cold, I hope no
one is left outside in the cold.

even if we had eyes
in the back of our heads,
we would be still unable to set
our sights on the enemy

I some times feel promises;
like love are said on a whim
and to often, both become broken

yesterday has gone
and tomorrow is unventured
so embrace what we have in reality
right at this moment

I hope the winter blossoms
with optimism

for the summer wrapped too many
bouquets of flowers
in which most were laid to rest

    Life on Earth has changed. It's literally been turned upside down in the blink of an eye. Death of innocent people presented as statics on a screen. The world is sick to death with it. We've been forced apart, but like your poem suggests, we need to be part of the healing, today. Let's look forward with open minds and hearts. Those that have gone will never be forgotten.

    Nice to read your musings. Excellent as always.

    Take care.
