Her Father's Funeral.

by Marta   Jul 13, 2004

She's already up and getting ready
It's going to be a busy day today
She takes a bite of her burnt toast
Un expecting what might happen on her way.

She grabs her purse and puts on her shoes
She snatches her keys and puts on her coat
She hurries and snatches the letter she had wrote.

She gets into her car, mesmerized but ready
She then pulls out from her new paved driveway
Finishing her lovely made burnt toast
Un Expecting what might happen on her way.

She finally gets to the intersection
Waiting for the red light to turn green
She has to hurry and be on time for once
Come on, come on, god I'm only a teen.

As the minutes ticked it finally turned green
She stepped on the clutch and started to speed
Hurry hurry, she heard her say
Un expecting what might happen on her way.

She zooms by everyone she sees
Yes I'm going to make it
She's almost there just a little further
As she turned the corner, a semi-truck had hit.

She spun out of control and hit a tree
Then lost consciousness and ran into the ditch
She had been crushed between the seats
This couldn't happen it only felt like a twitch.

The trucker felt bad and the police investigated
They cleaned up her car and
the police had read
That this girl was only 16
and already, was pronounced dead.

After cleaning up inside of her little car
A police man notice something on her seat
As he took a closer look at it
It was a letter of deceit.

He unfolded the paper as gently as he could
He started to read until he was done
It was so sad he started crying
She was so terribly young.

She was only in a hurry
Trying to go as fast as she could
She wanted to be on time
She tried, if you understood.

She was almost there on time today
She was on time for her fathers funeral
But something unexpected had happened on her way.
