The Frogs

by UM   Jul 13, 2004

Two frogs,
Were sitting on a log.
One named Jed,
The other Fred.

They relaxed in style,
Catching bugs with a smile.
Without a care,
They were such a pair.

What they failed to hear,
Was a noise quite near.
A boy with a net,
Looking for a new pet.

With a sudden scoop,
Jed let out a whoop.
He was confined,
In the net entwined.

Fred turned to bolt,
When he received a jolt.
A second boy,
Was also looking for a toy.

The two frogs,
Whimpered like dogs.
"G'Bye, Buddy" said Fred.
"I'll miss you, pal" said Jed.

The boys went their separate ways,
Leaving the frogs to reminisce of the days,
When they would sit on their log,
And be happy they were frogs.

it was a cutesy poem that read smooth and quick (which is usually the best kind).
