There goes the sun.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 10, 2020

She visits today,
amidst clouds and clutter,
shadows pirouetting
across my face.

I can't speak to her,
lips preoccupied with
the riddle of why I'm here.

I close every curtain,
knowing she will try to
sneak inside, if only for
a millisecond, hoping
to soften the blow and
change my mind.

But it's too late,
and it's not alright.

Lovely little piece and nice to read something from you again!

I found myself relating to this piece in the sense of the sun being any happiness, and the need to shut it out through choice in case it gets in and leads to heartache, that constant battle of never seeking happiness because safety can lie in the darkness at least.

    Great write !

    Congratulations MA.
Very thought provoking piece, where I feel the image of a storm haunts in some way.
