Come Dirt Or Dust:(part 1)

by Scott Cole   Dec 14, 2020

I'm a piece of property
That no one cares to stroll,
And all this isolation
Is about to take it's toll.

I'm a tropical paradise
A Caribbean delight,
Where bare feet walk my beaches
Beneath my stary moonlight.

For my sexy sandbox
Brings them from afar,
All those thirsting for pleasure
Or hungry for the bizarre.

I'm the stuff dreams are made of
Your little hideaway,
I'm that tranquil pristine
That will take your breath away.

For I magnify the stars
I set the moon on fire,
I cast all the waves about
Whereever I desire.

I'm your getaway vacation
Your break from the norm,
But just like the other islands
I'm still prone to storms.

Now I'm your tropical depression
My waves are so untamed,
And all my stars and moon
Hide their face in shame.

So I am but an island
That's entire of itself,
Or a well traveled book
Collecting dust upon a shelf.

Great rhyming piece from you Scott. Lots of imagery here, and a well told story of how life is, and nature itself.
    Nicely done fella. M :)
