Mother Earth

by Dark Lord   Dec 17, 2020

The sky is dark, the leaves are brown,
I stand in this forest and look around.

Everywhere I look, I see nature's beauty,
I simply belong here, this is home to me.

I feel I'm one, with the flowers and the trees,
Feeling the life, the wind becoming a breeze.

It blows all around me, wisping around my head,
I look to the ground, seeing the tears I have shed.

The trees are all dying, bark turning grey,
I drop to my knees, there I begin to prey.

Oh Mother earth, hear my plea,
I beg of you, on a bended knee.

Please come back to us, though we are few,
You know in our hearts, to you, we are true.

We meant you no harm, with our growing demand,
We've stripped you of your soul, here I now stand.

To beg for your forgiveness, and ask you to return,
We're trying to mend our ways, changing as we learn.

We're trying to give back, and not take so much,
With a lot of love, and a sincere gentle touch.
