Broken Hearts Club

by Kryptonite Dreamer   Dec 19, 2020

Here we are,
Together once again,
With my blood filled pages in the notebook,
The shards of my heart covering the floor,
You turn to me and see how broken I am,
You tell me,
"I'm sorry for breaking you" .
As I stutter out,
"Its okay",
I see your eyes start to tear up,
And when I ask you whats wrong,
All you tell me is that the bomb needs one final break,
After that final break than I'll become numb,
Cold to love,
Broken completely,
As I see you trying to mend my heart back together,
You're getting more scared to see what I look like heartless,
Being a part of the Broken Hearts Club,
I try to help,
But to no avail my heart has been turning more and more into ice,
So the fire we had is gone,
The spark went out,
And I will never forget you,
As I rip out the final shred of my heart,
To let my heart shatter completely,
Tears running down my face,
I,
Love you,
You may have set the bomb in place
But I will always love you,
Never forget

Wow I can relate to this so much! I think you have made this poem so simple and it speaks just exactly how raw the pain feels when the person we love let’s us down, you have not went in too much detail between the two people which is good because it means we can then all relate to it.

The shards of your heart is powerful and it’s hard knowing that something is already so shattered and yet there appears to me one more hit for that heart to take, knowing it won’t survive the pain.

I like the attitude of this poem, it doesn’t seem to hold anger or regret or anything aimed at that person , it’s like you are so gentle and forgiving because you could not ever hate this person even though they have hurt you so much. Usually these topics come with a mix of love and hate for the ones we lost, but this is simply just too filled with the love which makes it worse because the pain must have been so deep for them to mean that much to you, then walk away.

Enjoyed this read and I like how easily it flowed from the tongue.
