Changes

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 30, 2020

Memories appear in my sleep,
as uninvited as your existence.
They come calling loudly
with fears and tears rolling within them.
Your shadow still lingers in my room,
invading my space like a cancer spreading through a skeleton.
Your breathing can still invade my ears,
as heavy as a storm cloud waiting to strike.

I struggle to hide the damage caused
since I was broken into,
the fear beats on, I must confess.
But certain things are changing,
I am no longer pretending to be what you tried to make me
through each painful stay in your twisted cult of cruelness.

You whispered uninvited threats
to keep me captured in your web,
but surely you knew you couldn't keep me there forever.

Certain things are changing in me,
and that means fear will now be visiting you in your sleep,
tainting your dreams with a dark unknown for your future.

Tell me, how does it feel when your prey escapes,
when they hold so much secrets you dared to create?

Welcome to my web!
See you on the others side!
