The Dark Unknown

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 30, 2020

They try to devour our destiny
with their devoted pattern of breaking us down
and stamping us as part of their turf.

They fiercely steal our childhood,
fragment by fragment,
leaving us looking through the fire
with broken eyes and burnt out hope.

They make us believe we are everybody's problem,
that no one would care to know
how we get tied up as soon as it gets dark,
afraid, with no company but tears and racing heartbeats.

It's always the quiet ones they seem to target,
believing they will never get bored of being the victim,
and will never fight back to being watched through the microscope
by each member of the twisted cult.

They never accept what they have done,
only blame us for being so messed up,
causing confusion and guilt to scare away the real us.
We start to believe we were destined to be their slaves,
we believe their every word.

We become swallowed by the dark unknown.

It is within this dark unknown,
that we become tougher then them.
It is within this blind side that we realise
there is no escape towards the moon
without a fight for our control.
We begin to fight back for our stolen fate!

The dark unknown becomes our determination
to prove all the doubters wrong and to stop being their victim.
It is within this dark unknown that we make our final exit
from the poisoned past that we did not belong in.
We unwind the chains that for so long kept us wrapped in fear!

We become devoted to seeking justice.
Devoted to making them the the victim,
the victim of the dark unknown.
