Hesitate Faster

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 31, 2020

Don't run to me with your meaningless apologies and desperate excuses
of why none of this mess is your fault.
I gave up long ago trying to seek your understanding,
trying to convince you to believe me.
I used to be riddled with fascinating questions
about what drove you to a monster like him,
and what made you let his power distort your view.
When did you become so wrapped around his poisonous fingers
that you let him poison your entire world?
When you soar into his lonely arms,
does his lies soothe you to sleep at night?

You stood by his word, his erratic behaviour and betrayal,
like you were addicted to him as if he was a sugar fix.
You hesitate to leave him,
yet wonder why you are still falling further into loneliness.
I wonder if you will ever wake up without him,
and miss the life of love that you could have had.
I wonder if you will see your past mistakes,
feeling regret rising in your stomach,
as you relaise this poisonous life you lead is yours,
and only you are responsible for that!
