of those little throbbing whispers
that echo "g.u.i.l.t.y" in your heart?
Are you afraid that he will find it easy
to replace you with anybody else,
even though you know he already does
whenever you are apart?
Trust is such a big thing,
yet it is something you never have with him,
so why contribute to his criminal intent,
every.single.time?
I thought walking away was wrong,
not from him, but from you,
believing that you were not much of a fighter,
so I would have to be the strong one.
Turns out I was right,
because he may have tried to break me,
but you seem to want to crush every little piece of my heart.
If you could hear me now,
and tell me for sure,
that those whispers don't grow louder
with every tattered photograph you stumble upon,
that you do not see the truth gazing back at you
through my innocent eyes in every one,
then I will realise that all of your issues
are far deeper and more alarming
than his will ever be.
