Flustered Depression

by Star   Jan 12, 2021

she sat in darkness,
her face glowing from
the screen in front
of her.

shadows and figures
danced and sang with
crickets, while she
collected emotions
from fake characters.

the battery flashed red,
so the cool night
delivered shivers to her.

she couldn't account
for her tears that
poured with silence,
under a moon
who had seen it all.

he disregarded her,
though she didn't know
he had witnessed it.

he was the moon
and she was she;
a passerby who
struggled to contain
her light soul.

A moonlit face, like viewing a screen in the dark.

I'm really glad that Rania nominated this poem, and she's right, you couldn't help but read this in a low voice, almost like the reader witnessed this and 'she' also doesn't know the reader saw.
