I am learning
to rest
in the arc of
your touch,
in the andante spill
of soft truths
and safety
that curve around us
like evening shadows,
dimming the hum
of insensate engines
and caviling opinions
locked outside
the panes of glass
that are painstakingly
shaded
with simple melodies,
allowing us
the clarity to embrace
our cacophonous
hearts.
