A path might be concrete and set in the ground
And maybe even coloured, so it's easily found
A definite direction, in which it will guide
You won't get lost, if this path you decide
A path might be made, entirely of stone
And this that will lead, towards the unknown
Although with time, they might go astray
But generally you still, can make your way
A path might be made, only of wood
Although some will dispute, if this is good
Left in the elements, it might soon rot
Then lost for direction because you forgot
Though my path's made, with just my footprints
It will still show direction, but only a hint
Because my ambitions, are one step ahead
It really doesn't matter, where I might tread
This rule to life, which you should apply
The most obvious path, you don't have to try
Just follow your heart and make your own track
And a path won't be needed, when not looking back
