Weak as I am
I walk up this hill
My tears dry
My hearts broken
My soul perished
My mind astray
The dusky shadows
strokes my skin
How long has it been?
Since I cried so…
How far has my mind drifted?
Ever since I lost my step…
In this empty darkness
Is it my will to be only human?
Silent as it is
My heart longs for that perfect sky
To look up at it
To feel it
And one day
I will feel the petals
Of that very darkness
Because I am only human

    After all is said and done, we are only human. I like how you describe a life spent in difficult darkness. Only you want a peace that will come one day, not to deliver a harsh end, but one that gently takes you away, like petals closing out the light.
