Imaginary Detours

I set out on my walk today and not my usual track
I just felt like getting away and never coming back
In one set direction which I began to stroll
But soon I had to slow down as I came across a hole

It wasn't very deep so I simply moved around
I was glad I didn't trip and in time it was found
I kept on moving forward though now a bit more wary
As falling into a hole can be a little scary

But before I knew it another hole I would find
This one was much deeper and wasn't even signed
Though I'm not worried as a hole's just made of air
And when you think about it, it's really not even there

Still this didn't stop another hole appearing
Each time getting larger and all over I was veering
It's now I had to stop to try and take this in
Otherwise, the path would lead back where it begins

Sometimes we drift in life and are lead astray
As we imagine problems that might get in our way
Just remain uninfluenced, and you never have to veer
Because all the holes you once saw, then suddenly disappear
