Defeat

by Some Random Human   Feb 11, 2021

This cover's getting heavier,
these sheets will be my grave,
whether in this bed or in my head,
either way I am encaged,
my darkest thoughts, things I haven't got,
to them I am a slave,
so what's the point in holding on,
if I'm just a disgrace,
it's such a waste,
it's such a waste,
I'm such a waste,
I can't erase,
there's no escape...

What's the point in waking up,
when you don't wanna be,
what's the point in standing up,
if you're stuck on your feet,
all I know is life is cold,
but I just can't retreat,
it's no use, it's like I glued,
my feet down to the street,
like concrete,

These doubts are always with me,
they won't leave me alone,
it feels like I'm a stranger,
inside of my own home,
so will I ever find a,
a place where I belong,
I have to keep on searching,
so I just carry on,
I move along,
I walk alone,
I'm not that strong,
I don't belong...

What's the point in waking up,
when you don't wanna be,
what's the point in standing up,
if you're stuck on your feet,
all I know is life is cold,
but I just can't retreat,
it's no use, it's like I glued,
my feet down to the street,
like concrete,

So what's the point in waking up,
when you don't wanna breathe,
and what's the point in standing up,
if you're stuck on your feet,
all I know is life is cold,
and I want to retreat,
but I just lose, so what's the use,
I admit defeat,
admit defeat...
