The Devil's Tomb

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 13, 2021

I'm done with the crying,
done with the fear,
I no longer drown myself
in the depths of despair.
I never crossed over
to the sunny side of the street,
I just pulled the blinds down
and lived in my own darkness,
where without light,
my mind is always dark
and your shadows can never run across it.

I was done with the monsters
dragging me into the dirt,
so I buried myself deep inside my own swamp,
and realised it's so much easier
to carve out a person
and leave a skeleton
made of heartless bone.
