"To let them into my home, through the front door, in every room , the messiest, darkest parts."

This! Damn good line. Some people need a deep clean, some may need to clean up the messy parts just a little and some people might think they're messed when really, they're pretty normal, but for the most part, I agree with this line. Nicely written :)

    Hi Lena,
Hope is such a wonderful thing to have but sometimes you can have too little, sometimes too much and having too little or too much can lead to us being hurt can't it?

I hope one day, I will let the person I love, see me naked with clothes on.
    ^
This opening stanza hot me like a tonne of bricks because I was with a man for years and he saw me like this many times and he took it for granted, he knew I was vulnerable and took it on himself to make me more vulnerable by abusing me in every way imaginable. I am still healing because of the man and still have a long way to to but I know I am stronger because of this no matter how difficult the road to recovery is.

I hope one day, I will let the person I love, see me break down the fake place I built up because I thought I wasn’t good enough.
    ^
Again, just wow. This is a difficult place to let anyone in to as once you are told you're not good enough, you begin to believe it yourself to and the more you believe it, the harder and longer it is to disbelieve it.

To let them into my home, through the front door, in every room , the messiest, darkest parts.

I have to agree with Maher on this one. Some of us a little to clean, some of us need a deep clean and the rest of us just need a revamp but to let someone in when we know there are parts of our homes that are 'messy and dark' shows just how strong of a person we actually are.

The rest of the poem tells me that the 'home' you speak of, is your body that has baggage/scars, as we all do but that it needs to be loved, wants to be loved and deserves to be loved like we all do regardless of your past and regardless of your fears and that the person who truly loves you will see past all this to love you the way you deserve and I'm here to tell you that one day you, when you least expect it, that person will come along and you'll just know they're the one because they will treat you and love you just as you deserve.

    Take care,
    Em x

Dear Em, your comment honestly made me cry. I’m sorry for what you have been through but I agree with everything you said. Thank you for taking time to write me. Sometimes I don’t think that person is out there but I can only hope. Your reply and you taking time to read my poem, truly means the world. Thank you again.
