    Hello Brenda,
The title "losing you now" could be about losing some through death, moving or simply just parting ways though it's a tough call really as it's so 'loosely' used and I say the term in a really good way as there's many interpretations for this depending on what the reader feels and probably the readers emotional state too.

    You joke to me;
    "Trade me in
    for a newer model."
    ^
This is a heartwrenching beginning as trading anyone or anything in for a' newer model' could potentially be the death of them but it happens all too often, I know alot of people jest about this for they've grown old together and could not see a life without the other in it, which is such a beautiful sentiment and these people know that the other is joking but does it not feel a little bit like a kick in the gut? I think it would to me though I have to say I am a really sensitive soul.

    I would sooner
    rip out
    my own heart
    than to
    lose you now...
    ^
I think this is what I was getting at in my ramblings of my comment on the grist stanza, it would hurt to lose that person when you've spent so long together, wouldn't it? I'm certain and 'losing them now' sjiutd to me that you've been together for quite some time and that neither of you are as young ad you use to be so it would be like 'having to start all over again.' Hopefully, that makes sense.

    You are my lifeline
    in this cruel world-
    the balm
    that healed
    my broken soul-
    a continual note
    that plays
    a tune
    that only I can hear
    ^
I love this stanza. It shows just how much this person has done for you and how much they truly mean to you which is why it would be difficult to 'lose them now' or at all, heaven forbid hut unfortunately, such is life.

    I truly began
    to live-
    to love-
    when you came
    into my life
    So there will be no
    "trading you in"
    no losing you-
    for losing you
    would be the end
    of me
    ^
Again, these last two stanzas show that this person (I assume your husband) means one hell of a lot to you. A remarkable piece.
    Take care,
    Much love,
    Em x

Thank you so much for your indepth comments. It was wonderful to read your take and thoughts. He's always joking to trade him in, something he knows I would never do, lol. I finally got it right with him.

I could be that 'newer model', I have fewer miles on my shiny clock... but I know, I could never compete with your quality man. All the best to both of you! X
