In your town

by Shah   Mar 28, 2021

Remember the stranger in town
He is back even in this lockdown

It has been a long time ago when
This heartbreaking story began

When I took my first step on this soil
And gave you my heart and trust to spoil

Feelings were so strong and intense
We wanted eachother at any expense

Nothing and nobody was able to stop
Love was driving us both crazy nonstop

From far away I was being dragged
With your love my heart was tagged

But this time being in your town is strange
It seems that all here went through change

Every step on this soil opens my wounds
Even the birds sing songs with sad sounds

The wind is not whispering anymore
It feels so cold as it was never before

It doesn't tell me that someone is waiting
The message it tells me is so frustrating

The streets are somewhat deserted now
They resemble my broken heart somehow

Nobody here is happy to see me again
Neither do I have anything here to obtain

I went across the streets we used to walk
Empty they are without your sweet-talk

The chains still clank on the bridge
Talking to the trees on the water edge

But it is a bit different and not joyful
A bit opposite as before and painful

The water is still flowing continuously
Ducks were all quacking mysteriously

Sadness I can feel while standing here
While the past and present I try to compare

But I might be wrong in blaming the town
There is something else what did die down

The town is still living like it used to do
My conclusions I might need to review

It's me who is crying this time every night
While everything in your town is all right

God may send his blessings upon this place
And protect all the people from falling into disgrace

I will leave and might never come back
As I wasn't able to find here what I lack

Leaving evergreen memories behind
Of love which was one of it's kind
