Ni modo

by Everlasting   Mar 29, 2021

Oh well, ni modo.

Gather your tears and boil them with your anger
make a tea and drink it hot while you are at it

Sometimes savoring the memories
it’s all you need

But if the taste is too unbearable
Add something sweet, honey,
to make it more bearable

Here, have a sit.

    Ni modo
    Either way in Spanish?
I adore learning languages and even have Spanish relatives, but I'm as useless as it comes at the language. I recognized this as a Spanish phrase, but I had no idea what it meant and had to look it up ( shamefully ):)
Anyway, I liked this, and now I know what ' ni modo' means! This has some lovely imagery and is nicely laid out.
    I especially loved the line:
Sometimes savouring the memories is all you need.
By the way, did you mean ' is ' instead of 'it's' in the line third from last?
It's absolutely wonderful and I really liked it.

No worries. It’s best to search when in doubt or when we don’t know something. To be more precise, “ni modo” means something like ... “Oh well, nothing can be done or change so might as well accept it. It might translate to there is no other way.

As for the “it’s” and “is”... i am not sure. But you are probably right. Thank you
