The Fight For Peace

Firstly, welcome to the site. Secondly, this is a good write. Society has come a long way in regard to abolishing slavery and giving better opportunities to those who were once oppressed - that's something I can't deny.
There are still horrible things that happen around the world though unfortunately, as well as things that our own societies that aren't really that apparent. Times change pretty quickly now - I'm only 31 and I'm saying that, so I can't imagine what the older generation must feel like.

But that being said, if you, the younger generation, can make a mark and work on fixing these hidden and sometimes sinister issues, then the future may just be alright. It was the younger generations that pushed to abolish racism, so I hope that this day's younger generation can keep pushing on, ofcourse without being SJW's about it :)

In a perfect world there would be no prejudice and we would, certainly, not overpower a people because the colour of their skin. Alas we are far from perfect and are still plagued by our mistakes. Slavery is, perhaps, the biggest one? When you say we don't have slaves anymore, i have to disagree. There are many people around the world, in developed countries where people are forced to work. They may well receive a roof and/or basic food, but they also know that they are trapped - they are slaves and are not free!

Nice rhymed piece, Jack. It is poems like this that open up conversations and can even be the catalyst for change. Well done!
