Day 6

by Everlasting   Apr 7, 2021

sometimes
i imagine a leaf detached from a branch
swayed by winds

.j
..u
...s
....t

falling

first, in distressed, then, so calmly
so gently, so elegantly free

other times
I picture this very same leaf
still falling

.j
..u
...s
....t

falling

but this time, in water, you see
forming ripples on the skin of a sea

adhering, becoming one,
being absorbed as it sinks
yet fighting, buoying

becoming a boat of some sort

But then, I imagine no more
And there it is

that very same leaf
floating in a pond next to me
