2021 NaPoWriMo #9

Every time I sit down to write

he lights a candle - saying that
my words will be smoother
if melted into the page as
opposed to simply resting
in ink on top of lines.

Maybe, he's on to something

but I worry that the scents
take my thoughts into
different directions than
I intended in the first place.
That the fire is taking claim

and credit for all of this...
