Double Standards, Single Hearted

by Walter   Apr 13, 2021

It saddens me when something ends
We can't be lovers, nor can be friends
Whatever that we shared before
No longer works, when wanting more

There are always two sides, to a coin
That's why we will, never join
When what we want, just can't be found
Because we share, no middle ground

Love and friendship cannot pair
When one expects what isn't there
Around in circles we will skate
And briefly join at middle eight

But now you bid us farewell
As I refuse to kiss and tell
When one no longer can equip
This ceases the relationship

So love and friendship can't exist
You better check that off your list
Believe me, it still causes pain
No matter on which side, you remain
