The Calm Lake

The Calm Lake

Waves on the surface of the lake,
On our boat making a calm wake.

Water is cold and clean,
Out on the water is a great scene.

Our boat stops and the anchor is out,
We jump in and swim about.

I think of the memories I've made,
And all of the times I've played.

Back to the dock we slowly go,
And just then the wind starts to blow.

Out on the lake what a great day,
But summer isn't done, only halfway.

People often make wonderful memories related to water - though I'm not the BEST at swimming, I absolutely adore it! Lovely poem :)
