Kitten

by BOB GALLO   May 4, 2021

All my life I chased my needs to better my life
I ended up living my needs instead of my life.

Life beguiles us
with incessant seductive craves
to satisfy,
to better our lives,
then makes us to give up our lives,
for those craves.

Like a kitten chasing her very tail
swamped
in the subject of her catch,
cuddling her dual self,
her hidden butterfly.

The game
of preys and predators.
cats and mice:
determined to hunt its tail,
as much as is disposed
to liberate it.
