Quiet Hospital Exceptions

by M. Rene'   May 11, 2021

& Whispers leech out of tight smiling mouths
as if it is a sin to be honest in this line of work
“healthcare is a tricky business Darling,”
rolls right off the tongue though, endlessly
the relentless lack of information wraps
on windowpanes the way the wind once did.

“It’s all going to be okay” only it won’t be
& & & I know there’s a story here - I just don’t
know how to tell it within the thick of things.
You’ll have to forgive me, to understand me
to breathe this stale circulated air in a whirlwind
of beeping machines, blaring alarms, emergencies
and chaos unnamed in an attempt to “keep the calm”

but I’ve never liked doctors nurses &/or white.

Another workshop poem - these are held on Sundays so let's just pretend I've posted one every Sunday for four weeks... The future ones will be posted after the class. This one was after Raych Jackson and her amazing ability to utilize writing tools that are often overlooked or restricted to rules that no one has the guts to break. LOL - that's exactly how Sabrina Benaim worded it as she taught the workshop.

Those rules, once learned, can be broken, especially, like here, the shards rRr, used to good effect! Nice work, I'm intrigued by this workshop, can I find these on line - they sounds totally inspiring.
