    This is so empty, MA but not in a bad way, I should first point out! The title and formatting by themselves are bleak/stark respectively. It's open to interpretation, obviously, but I see someone waking up, desperate, and jumping in their car to go somewhere to find an escape and peace that never come - "I drive back, empty-handed". The engine idling is intriguing. I read that line rather sadly as - even if respite was ever found in this parking lot - it could only ever be brief in the eyes of the driver who doesn't even bother to cut the engine knowing, perhaps, that whatever trauma awaits at home will have to be faced again soon.

    Yeah, on bad days, the sun intimidates me too.
